When she was 12 years old, Ms. Ewing (then “Debbie”) announced that she was going to be a lawyer. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (Pre-Law) at California State University, Fullerton. Thereafter, she obtained her Juris Doctor degree in May 1982 from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California, and began practicing law the same year after passing the California Bar Exam.

Deborah Ewing commenced her practice with the well-known Family Law Firm of Trope and Trope in Los Angeles and later focused in the areas of Family Law and Civil Litigation, including Business, Real Estate, Title and Escrow Matters, with the litigation firm of Anderson Ablon. In June 1995, she opened her own firm in Los Angeles and has maintained her offices in the South Bay since 1996.

Ms. Ewing is a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and Family Law Section, and the South Bay Bar Association and Family Law Section. She is a past member of the SBBA Board of Directors. She has served as minor’s counsel in court appointments and private referrals. Ms. Ewing is a member and past President of A Better Divorce, the first Collaborative Divorce practice group in the South Bay area. She is also a member of LACFLA, CP-Cal, and IACP, the Los Angeles, California and International Collaborative Divorce Organizations.  She is a Past President and Advisory Member of the Board of Directors of the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, the largest non-profit Family Law Legal services program in Los Angeles.

 

When not practicing law, Deborah enjoys travel, cooking, entertaining family and friends, and listening to Jazz music at live venues.
